Does it hurt?
Acupuncture uses hair-like fine needles. They are so tiny that they avoid most nerves in the skin. Many patients report no sensation upon insertion of a needle. Some patients feel a tiny sharp feeling similar to a mosquito bite. Once the needle has been inserted a patient will either feel light tingling, a dull, heavy sensation or nothing at all. All of these reactions are perfectly normal. No one particular experience is necessary to receive the benefits of an acupuncture treatment.
What happens at my first visit?
The initial visit includes a full medical history and evaluation. Upon arrival to the office, you will be asked to fill out paperwork relating to your health. After the paperwork, you will be taken to a consultation room where the Acupuncturist will ask more detailed questions about your health history and your current complaint. Many of our patients say that this is the most thorough medical evaluation that they have ever experienced. It is this thoroughness that truly sets us apart from our competition. |

If you are a good candidate for Acupuncture, we will schedule an examination. The purposes of the examination are to determine the nature and extent of the problem and to find out if your condition can be helped by the therapies provided here at Wood Tiger Acupuncture. We only accept those cases we truly feel that we can help, so this determination is extremely important. After the exam, the acupuncturist will recommend a treatment plan to you. The frequency and duration of treatments will depend on your main complaint, your overall health condition, and what you would like to gain from care.
How much does it cost?
The fee for an acupuncture treatment is $85. Insurance may reimburse you for part of the charges. You will have a chance to form a treatment plan with the Acupuncturist. Any questions or concerns you have about finances will be addressed during this process.
